For anyone who has driven in Lahore (or New York, or Calcutta, or any other busy metropolis), they know that driving in such places takes two apparently contradictory, but in fact complementary, skills.
First it requires extreme patience. If you are stuck in a traffic backlog several blocks deep, there is no point in getting yourself an ulcer by constant honking and fretting.
The second required skill is the opposite – speed. When an opening appears, go for it. If there is a short-cut, take it.
Infinite patience coupled with extreme speed. A good combination. The judgment comes in when to use what.
And as is often the way with these things, its a combination that works rather well in life too.
