The joys of tea making

I'm writing this as I make tea in my kitchen.

For those who like to drink tea, you'd know that making good tea is as much a matter of patience as anything else. You cannot rush things. Put on the pot, wait for the water to boil properly, add the tea leaves, and then wait for the leaves to soak up and impart their flavor. Add milk too quickly to the pot and you ruin everything.

I actually enjoy making tea. It's one of those small, reassuring, everyday rituals that keeps the wheels of life going. It represents permanency in a world that keeps changing. Yes, things are faster, better, brighter, bigger, bolder and what not. But it still takes the same amount of time to make a decent cup of tea - some things should never change.
