I was listening to a musical album by Brian Silas which consists of old melodies played on the piano A very nice selection - several of my favorites from the past.
And I got to thinking: what's so special about this work ? After all, it's just a redo of old, proven melodies - anyone with music playing skills could have played them and put out an album - the melodies are available to everyone to redo.
And yet while anyone could have - he did.
It's not enough to have inspiration - you must have execution. I wonder how much talent in this world goes untapped because someone could not find the energy or the courage to convert an idea into a reality.
