One day in the future, we’ll laugh at ourselves, or perhaps it will be the next generation that will laugh at us.
“They used to burn oil to create energy !!”, they’ll say, “Imagine, burning that terrible, polluting thing just to run their factories, keep warm and move their cars – when the sun produces so much free energy everyday”.
“They used to travel half way across the world for meetings, and would actually live in different cities just to go to certain universities! Imagine that !”. It will bewilder them that the early 21st century people actually travelled for any purpose other than pleasure, because their communication will be life-like to the point where it would become indistinguishable from being there.
“Believe it or not, they used to have to search for information by typing words on a keyboard – how funny is that!” they’ll say, because they will have contextual information always available about everything around them, without asking for it; information about everything they look at, everything they feel, and maybe even think about will be presented to them without any effort on their part.
Yes, they’ll definitely laugh at us !
